Gordon Holley, CA, CFP, CPB
President, CEO and Co-Founder

gordonGordon is an entrepreneur at heart. Whether he’s worked as a CFO advising start-ups, a law firm COO with strategic vision, or a partner in a CA firm, Gordon has always had a keen eye for business opportunities. Now, as President and CEO at BeanKeepers, he brings hard-won experience and insight from more than 20 years in accounting and financial services to his own bookkeeping franchise company.

While working as a Chartered Accountant in small, mid-sized and “Big 4” CA firms, Gordon got an insider's look at how bookkeeping affects both accountants and small business owners. He discovered that accounting firms were not optimized for bookkeeping tasks, which often fell to inexperienced students. He also watched small businesses waste money as accountants spent hours cleaning up poorly executed bookkeeping work. Gordon's answer is BeanKeepers, where his accounting expertise and passion for helping small businesses come together.

As a business owner, Gordon can now focus on the work he enjoys the most, like connecting with small business owners and accountants, and helping other bookkeepers grow their own successful businesses. A bonus of running his own company is the opportunity to work alongside his wife and BeanKeepers co-founder, Megan.

Over the course of his career, Gordon has been an award-winning author and a sought-after consultant. He continues to speak regularly on the topic of building and managing professional service firms. Gordon is a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Certified Professional Bookkeeper. He is a member of the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada, the National Association of Certified Professional Bookkeepers (US) and the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (US). He is also President of the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada.
